We headed down to the Halifax Beefeater to enjoy a family meal out before the Easter weekend. On a fairly quiet Sunday night we were surprised to wait a couple of minutes without acknowledgement from any of the staff who noticed us waiting but once we were acknowledged we were shown into the restaurant and offered a good choice of different tables. We chose to sit near the kitchen so we could see the food coming out, we liked the childrens pictures that were pinned up too. It kept the children busy and inspired them to create their own pictures too.
Having at Beefeater a number of times in the past we had an idea about the menu but we were pleased to see that the menu still offers a great range of dishes and of course that beef still features heavily.
The kids menu offers a great selection of meals and I liked that you can mix or match the courses and sides to create athe perfect meal for your kids. C opted for the Pop In Chicken and LissyLou chose the Spaghetti Bolognese, both were good size portions and good quality. The bolognese was tasty and full of meat and the chicken in C’s meal was good quality and there was plenty of it. They were both very happy with their choices.
I chose the sirloin steak and Daddy Ramblings opted for the fillet steak. Both come with either fries or chunky chips (you can even have a refill if you have room) and both were cooked medium as requested. The complimentary side salad added an extra element and really helped fill us up.
We were too full for puddings after our steaks but we let the kids chose their own! Again, big portions and they were thrilled with the create your own type puddings on offer. C opted for a funny face sundae – a nice scoop of ice cream and sweets to decorate whilst LissyLou went for the chocolate challenge – ice cream, marshmallows, brownie and chocolate sauce. Both were devoured!
We received a voucher towards the cost of our meal in exchange for this review of the Spring Menu at Beefeater.
