Why I Love The North Of England
It’s no secret that I’m proud to be a Northerner. I love the North of England, it’s full of so many special places and people. From the Angel of the North, to Malham Cove, Blackpool Tower and hundreds of amazing places in between you could spend forever exploring the North of England and never get bored. We are lucky enough to live quite near Eureka the children’s museum in Halifax, the National Media Museum in Bradford and near enough to many of Yorkshire’s other great attractions. The North of England is full of beautiful scenery, coastlines and History too!
One of my all time favourite places in the North is York. I’ve loved going there my whole life but even more so since having the children. It’s one of those places that feels good, from the National Railway Museum which the kids love, to the shopping, the eating (Betty’s is a must) and the city walls. York is a great place to visit. We quite often drive up to York, visit the designer shopping outlet and then Park and Ride into York centre. Parking in the centre of York like most popular tourist places can be tough but the Park and Ride system works brilliantly here and if you park anywhere in the direction of the Race Course you enjoy a great bus ride in taking in the sights.
So when Marriott Hotels asked me to be their North of England Ambassador I was excited because it meant I could share my love for the North along with discovering some new Northern treasures. I want to know your top tips for visiting up here, whether with the kids, with friends or as a couple.
