Lego Fun
I loved Lego as a child, I had one of those huge Lego pirate ships and a big box full of the stuff, myself and my sister used to spend hours playing with Lego, hour upon hour of Lego fun!
I always hoped that the children would enjoy Lego too. It’s one of those great toys that involves creativity, dexterity and gets them to follow instructions. It’s really stood the test of time too. At his grandparents C plays with a box of Lego toys that belonged to his Daddy and his Uncle when they were Children. It has a brilliant Robin Hood’s den that reminds me of some of my favourite parts of playing with Lego, secret compartments! I loved the secret compartments where you hid the treasure, endless possibilities of play scenarios!
At home he has a tub of Lego, we can only get it down with LissyLou is in bed so it’s very precious. He loves getting the Lego down, especially if Daddy has got the time to play. He is happy playing by himself too, but I won’t let him play unsupervised because it does have such small pieces (and is meant for children aged 6 upwards)and he does get frustrated when he can’t fix it himself if it breaks! But he plays very nicely with it and is very careful with it too!
I think that the only thing on his Christmas list this year will be Lego, there are some amazing sets to buy, he will be spoilt for choice that’s for sure. Have you seen the sets you can get now? They are amazing, C has his eye on this huge Lego airport, not surprised really, I quite want it myself!
Did you like Lego as a child or are your children mad about lego?

I absolutely LOVED Lego as a kid and still do. MC is just about getting into ‘proper’ lego so we can phase the Duplo out for TC. My best friends Mum still has a large box of proper old school lego from the 70′s – it’s awesome! x

Love that the old school lego is the same as the new stuff and just as playable! Lots of fun to be had!
We all love Lego is our house, I firmly believe it is the greatest toy ever! Over the years we’ve had so many sets and there are completed creations on shelves everywhere around the house.

Agreed, it’s a classic, never grows old and absolutely brilliant
Both my 2, Megan is 7 and ben 3, love Lego. we have got a massive box of things that have been bought or freebies from the paper. Megan has decided she wants the Lego friends set, have you seem them? girly pink Lego! fab. and Lego has just brought out a Lego advent calendar which I am so tempted to get before Christmas x
Its expensive, but we get the lego advent calendar every year. Much better than stuffing them with chocolate
You are right, I don’t really like traditional chocolate calendars for smaller children
Ha ha my nearly 14 year old still hasn't grown out of his lego and every now and again he gets it out and grasps at his youth lol x
I know, kids (and big kids) all love lego for at least a little while! Nice to know that he can still have a play now and again
Oooh Lego calendar sounds fab! Might have to look out for that one
