Good Customer Service Does Happen

I’ve seen lot of articles and blog posts recently that have focused on poor service and on naming and shaming poor companies for this poor customer service (I’m sure that in many of the cases this was deserved). But I wanted to highlight that good customer service does happen and over the last few weeks we have been lucky enough to have two specific bouts of really good customer service;

1. Good customer service example 1 – Kripsy Kreme

We love Krispy Kreme doughnuts, not only are they delicious but the hotlight stores are a great fun trip for the children. They love watching the doughnut ‘theatre’ where they make the doughnuts so it’s more than just a tasty treat for them, it’s free entertainment in a way too.

On our last trip to the Birstall Hotlight store, one very early Saturday morning, we made our purchases, were safely helped to our table by the guy serving and then we were offered a free hot doughnut each, which is always a really nice touch anyway but makes us all very happy. C and I then popped over to watch the doughnuts being made and again and C was offered a further hot doughnut which we politely refused because we had already had a free one and we had bought each too. The kind ladies then invited us to go and make a special chocolate sprinkle doughnut for C. They not only taught C about the health and safety, they also showed him how to make his favourite doughnut, gave us a tour and were just genuinely lovely. All the staff were lovely to him actually and made us feel special.

It made C’s day, here he is later with his creation!

Good Customer Service

2. Good customer service example 1 – Frankie and Bennys

A new Frankie and Bennys opened near us recently, we like F&B’s and reviewed them once before (Frankie and Bennys review). We visited shortly after it had opened and thought the service was good. We returned the following weekend and we had been there a few minuted when Sarah, the waitress who had served us the previous week came over holding a jacket which we had left unknowingly the previous week. She had tried to catch up with us when we left it but we had gone before she realised. It was lovely that not only had she kept the jacket safely but also remembered who we were and returned it safely. We hadn’t even realised the jacket was missing, each of us thinking it was in the car, if it wasn’t for Sarah then we probably would never have known where it had gone!

So you see, good customer service does happen! Have you had some good customer service recently?
