Matalan Style Project
Matalan invited me to take part in their latest Matalan Style Project where they pick a few bloggers to create an outfit based upon a specific theme. This time the project was to create a Holiday Day Trip look for £50 using only items from Matalan.
I popped down to my local store to choose my outfit and spent an hour and a half browsing, trying things on a deciding. I love Matalan and have talked before about my love for their clothing and accessories, particularly their £16 blazers, which are amazing value for money! They do up to date fashion at such great prices!
For the Matalan Style Project I needed something that fit the brief of Holiday Day Trip, that would be easy to wear and most of all would work either at home or abroad! Choosing provided difficult because I found at least four different base outfits that would have worked for me.
Eventually I whittled it down to two very different outfits. Here is my choice for the Matalan Style Project:
The printed maxi dress is just £20, made of comfy jersey material that means it doesn’t look creased and wears well. I loved the colours and tried to tie in my accessories to it. So I chose the 3 pack of coordinating bracelets, a total bargain at £5 for the set, the fun colour pop gladiator sandals, again such a bargain at just £5! I loved the fox face bag for a bit of fun, it’s the perfect size for fitting just your essentials in plus it’s only £8, so cute I might have to pop back and get the owl face bag too, although LissyLou might steal them! Finally these sunglasses caught my eye because the large lenses provide great sun protection again at just £5 you really can’t go wrong! So for a grand total of £43 I think I got a lot for my money!
I treated myself to the second outfit because it was too nice not to have in my wardrobe! I also chose well because all the accessories will go with both outfits for a bit of capsule wardrobe planning – ideal!
If you like the outfit please pop over to the Matalan Style Project and vote for me!
