Colour Boutique Kettle and Toaster
As a Morphy Richards Innovator I will be reviewing items from the Morphy Richards range throughout the next year. The first items for review are the Colour Boutique Kettle and Toaster. We chose the Vibrant Oasis coloured set to go with the green walls in our kitchen. On the website the set looks really bright and bold lime green, a major selling point for the range I thought, as something really different from other brands!
In reality the set isn’t bright, bold or lime green. It’s more of a muted olive green. It’s not that it’s unpleasant, because honestly I really like the colour but I was expecting that bright and bold lime green so I was disappointed and a bit surprised that the colour could come across so much brighter than the actual product. I do like the combination of the coloured plastic and the chrome, it means that they are not too colourful or overpowering.
The shaping of both the kettle and toaster is pretty cool, much more rounded than my previous set and they almost have a retro feel which is refreshing and a little quirky.
In terms of function the toaster has lots of adjustable functions including browning control, reheat and defrost. It offers a perfect even toast (a major plus after the evils of my last toaster!) and the variable width slots mean you can toast crumpets and bagels easily too, which in this house is a major bonus as everyone eats different toasted items at breakfast!
The kettle has a good 1.5L capacity and is faster to boil than my previous kettle, the spout makes it really easy to pour without splashing too!
