Morrisons M-Savers

Morrisons M-Savers

Morrisons M-Savers range is a great entry level range of foods that have recently been developed to improve upon Morrisons existing value range. With improved packaging the Morrisons M-Savers range looks good and is the kind of products you wouldn’t be ashamed to put in your basket. Yes, the vegetables might not be as pretty as the more expensive ones but they will definitely taste as good! I was very impressed with the quality of all the ingredients.

Morrisons M-Savers Last night I went to a special masterclass and cooking event in the Morrisons M Kitchen, a fabulous development kitchen in the heart of Morrisons HQ in Bradford. I was lucky enough to listen to Sarah Willingham (of GMTV and The Restaurant fame) talk about the reasons for the Morrisonst M-Savers range and the new range of great low-value but high-taste recipes developed by chef Richard and his team in the Morrisons M Kitchen. Morrisons M-Savers Research shows that the average family spends 11% of their annual income on grocery shopping. In the UK 5.2million households have an income of less than £13,000 per year and so for them to spend 11% of their annual income on groceries that means a weekly budget of just £27.50 per week for groceries. Sarah talked about general ways to save money on shopping bills such as comparing prices, not shopping when hungry etc

But his is where the new range of recipes will really come into it’s own. With great ideas from meatballs with pasta (58p per head) to pork chops with mash, apples and carrots (84p per head) Morrisons show that it is possible to eat great nutritionally balanced and affordable meals. Even better is that the recipes taste really great. I know because myself and some fellow bloggers all had the opportunity to cook one of the recipes in the M-Kitchen and then taste them afterwards!

I teamed up with the lovely Nadine to cook the pork chops. I never cook pork at home but the recipe was very easy to follow and the end result was really tasty.

Me cooking – well almost!

All the other dishes were great too and included the meatballs, delicious salmon and pesto fishcakes and a roasted vegetable pasta bake.

Yummy Pork Chops!

There are 18 different recipes in the Morrisons M-Savers recipe selection so there is a great choice of ingredients and types of foods. The best thing is that the most expensive recipe comes in at a tiny £1.87 per portion and the cheapest is a miniscule 27p per portion! If that’s not something to get you interested then I don’t know what will! I had a great evening and think that Morrisons have got the M-Savers produce and recipes spot on, easy to prepare and tasty food at easy on the pocket prices? Bring it on!

Thanks to Nadine for some of the photography, Morrisons for the event and the goodie bag and Sarah Willingham for the money savings tips – you can read more about those here

  1. what a fab experience – Im jealous would love to do something like this.have seen their “posters” hanging from the ceilings advertising the products, have bought their plain crisps and as they are only 18g in size are much more manageable size than the normal 30g size bags, and very nice crisps indeed.

    • The range really honestly surprised me, the quality is great and the price is outstanding! Must try the crisps if you think they are nice! I recommend the mince (nice texture and amazing low price!)
